Full-Text Book Searches: Between the Covers
Technology has advanced to a point that has allowed us to expedite and increase the relevance of searches of books. Several search engines allow the searching of phrases, keywords, etc. of all of the text in books. No longer do you need to camp out in the library with stacks of books as your only friend. Below you will find several links that may aid in your literature search.
Use this to try to find copies of books on Web sites. This technique may find copies of copyrighted material that is available online. This works in both Google and Yahoo!. Use a title word or author name and then add the following:

Google books has available a database of old, out of copyright books as well as an ever-growing number of limited view in-copyright books. Google books does not allow you to save or even copy text, but it gives you the option of full-text searching which will give you a good enough idea of whether the book will be useful or not. If the book does seem useful, request it using the InterLibrary Loan and Article Delivery Service link found above.
The digital book index has more than 140,000 full text digital books from over 1800 publishers and universities. More than 100,000 are available for free.
The University of Pennsylvania has amassed a collection of 30,000 free online books made available through their search engine.
Amazon books primarily provides limited viewing of in-copyright books. Many of the books are full-text searchable.
